Northwest Greenways — NW Greenways

WALK BIKE PLAY LIVE

Northwest Greenways is a coalition of Greenways groups from the north end of Seattle that includes the neighborhoods of Greenwood, Phinney Ridge, Licton Springs, Haller Lake, Bitter Lake, and Broadview. Our group consists of neighbors working together to make our streets safe for all people to walk, bike, play, and live. We occasionally organize events to build community with neighbors, lead projects to make our streets safe and accessible, and support advocacy work in the northwest corner of Seattle.

We meet on the first Thursday every other month to discuss how we can accomplish our goals—all are welcome! See Agenda | Save to Calendar

What We're Working On

Neighborhood Homezones

A Homezone is an area that is protected from lots of fast moving traffic so that streets are safe enough to walk and play on. Traffic-calming projects for our neighborhood include blue planter barrels and beautiful street murals.

Connections to Light Rail

How will we walk, bike, and roll to the future 130th street light rail station? The Pinehurst Station - is scheduled to open in 2026 - will serve the neighborhood between the Northgate and Shoreline South/148th stations and will support approximately 3400 daily boardings.

Extending the Interurban Trail

The Interurban Trail connects Downtown Seattle with North Seattle all the way to Everett. Our advocacy work supported extending the trail making healthy streets permanent between N 110th St to N 88th St.
